The Boats

Our fleet of boats at the Rivers Inlet Sportsman’s Club are custom-built 17 ft. fiberglass vessels designed for safety, comfort, stability & fishing. They are open craft with no centre console or windshield so that there is an unobstructed fishing platform whilst guests fight their trophy fish. These “Stinger” boats are powered by brand new 40hp, 4-stroke Yamaha outboards, & equipped with radios, GPS/sounders, electric bilge pumps & downriggers. Our fleet has good performance, speed & range allowing guests to fish a variety of fishing spots in our local area. This area includes Calvert Island offshore from the mouth of Rivers Inlet, all the way up to the head of the Rivers Inlet where the rivers flow into the sea. Even though the fish are usually caught only a few minutes from the lodge at the ocean end, we can travel further to explore more areas where fish are being caught.

Tackle Options

The Sportsman’s Club offers many different types of tackle options & combinations. We have all the gear for “old school” top-water drift mooching with light tackle & bait (herring), as well as downriggers & hardware when the fish go deeper.  We also have all the equipment for bottom fishing for halibut & lingcod, as well as spin-casters & fly rods for that ultra-light-tackle fishing experience. All bait & tackle is included in your trip package. We have everything, & guests need to bring no fishing gear. Having said that, if you have a favourite rod, reel, jig, lure or fly bring it along & give it a try.

Boating Gear

We provide top-of-the-line rain jackets, pants & boots that keep you dry from head to toe. These are not only used during inclement weather but wearing them protects our guests from the ocean wind & chill. For the safety of all guests, life jackets are provided & must be worn before leaving the docks to venture out in the ocean on your exciting fishing adventure.

Our fleet has good performance, speed & range allowing guests to fish anywhere in our 35 miles radius. This area includes Calvert Island offshore from the mouth of Rivers Inlet, all the way up to the head of the Rivers Inlet where the rivers flow into the inlet. Even though the fish are usually caught only a few minutes boat ride away from the lodge at the ocean end, we can travel further to explore more areas where fish are being caught.
