And A Bit Of History…

Now for a bit of history which some of you are aware of having fished at the Sportsman’s Club for over 40 years. More than ever recently we are receiving requests for information from guests who came to fish with us as youngsters with parents &/or grandparents. Now these youngsters want to bring their own children & grandchildren. Also, guests who came with corporate groups are now reserving space for their own companies…

Barbara is blessed with a good memory & is delighted to welcome back to the Sportsman’s Club all former & new guests. She is known throughout the British Columbia coast as someone who has supported the association of lodges supporting salmon conservation & enhancement. Our guests also contribute to the funds sent to the Pacific Salmon Foundation every year. For several years Barbara was a member of the Sports Fishing Advisory Board which advises Fisheries & Oceans Canada (DFO). Not only these achievements, but she is an avid fisherman herself having caught a 40 pounder Chinook/king fishing solo only minutes from the lodge.

This season, we welcome back Rory who has been in Australia since October 1 as well as Zach & his team of guides. The chefs, housekeepers, dock & maintenance staff are anxious for the season to start. We hope that you are ready for some past fishing tales from our guides to come your way via the newsletters sent via Constant Contact.

Please note as of April 1 this year, DFO published the retained catch limits for 2025 which are: 8 salmon four of which can be Chinook/kings, one halibut (no oversize as yet), 6 lingcod.
Do contact us at any time to discuss fishing with us at Rivers Inlet Sportsman’s Club where it’s peaceful & magical…
