Plans For The 2016 Season

Rivers Inlet Sportsmans ClubAlong with several of our associates, we are hard at work getting ready for the fishing season.  Last year’s staff have already contacted us to ensure that their jobs are secure for another season.  We are pleased to report that almost all of them are returning. We have housekeepers Elyse, Tayler, Andrea & Celia back on board. Guides Colm, Curtis, Duncan, Scott, & Matt will all be returning. All our dock hosts Greggor, Michel & Jon are also coming back as well. And, last but not least, Mike will be back in the kitchen as head chef. There will be lots of familiar faces on the dock, not to mention people who are knowledgeable on every aspect of our complicated operation. John Salo, who has towed the lodge for 32 years, does maintenance work for us in the winter.  He owns a logging company on Malcolm Island & this is where our huge floating logs that make up our floats are from as well as the dock planking etc.  This year John’s biggest project is a new & expanded mid section to our pier making more rooms for boats & aircraft.  The biggest upgrade is the new walk-in freezer. Maintenance of course is constant & there are many other jobs that are ongoing. We have hired a fresh water expert to step-up & monitor our water system to ensure that our equipment produces the best quality water possible. We are closely monitored by the Vancouver Island Health Authority that tests the quality of our water every year making sure it is of the highest standard.
