Why Choose The Rivers Inlet Sportsman’s Club?

Here are the main reasons we are simply the best lodge to come on a world-class fishing trip targeting King/Chinook & silver/coho salmon, halibut, & lingcod:

Family owned & operated – 42 Seasons in Business
The Kelly Family established the lodge in 1984. Simon & his wife Stephanie run the lodge with daughter Rory & lodge owner Barbara. Being owner-operated allows us to be actively involved in all the moving parts of the operation. Our hands-on attention to these little details makes for an exceptional experience. Many of our loyal return customers have been fishing with us for 30+ years & some since our inception.

Seaplane Access Only – No Roads, No Crowds
There are no roads to Rivers Inlet so there are no crowds. Access is by floatplane only & that eliminates almost everyone except you fishing in pristine, uncrowded waters amidst a backdrop of breathtaking scenery & wildlife viewing. Our direct 90-minute first-class seaplane flights from Vancouver BC (YVR) are in a sleek & modern Cessna Caravan that lands right at our docks.

Bigger Fish
The salmon returning to our waters each summer to spawn in their birth rivers are from our unique gene pool of salmon that are bigger & fatter than those in any other watershed in the world. This is why Rivers Inlet is a world-famous fishing destination.

Lots of Fish
Rivers Inlet is a destination for tens of thousands of salmon specifically returning every summer to the 9 major river systems in our huge watershed. We are also a funnelling point for feeding salmon migrating down the Pacific West Coast to the hundreds of rivers systems as far away as California. This combination of returning & migrating runs makes for the most consistent salmon fishing anywhere in the world. Our liberal catch limits reflect this abundance.

Close to Fishing Grounds – Calm Waters
The lodge is only minutes away from the most productive calm water fishing grounds in Rivers Inlet where some of the world’s largest Chinook & coho salmon are caught each summer. The halibut & lingcod fishing grounds are nearby as well. You can fish from 6:00AM-9:00PM & return to the lodge throughout the day for hot meals, to drop off your catch, re-provision, or to just to take a break from the fishing action.

DIY or Guided?
Our basic package is DIY/self-guided & most of our guests successfully fish on their own. On arrival & everyday, we offer informative fishing seminars, continuous training & mentoring throughout your trip. Guides are available at an additional cost. Guiding can be booked for 1 day or every day of your trip, except the last day. Guides need to be pre-booked as they typically sell out well in advance.

So don’t delay, book your wilderness fishing adventure of a lifetime today!
